Best Pokémon for All22Pokemon: Position-Based Picks

The best Pokémon depends on the open position. Start with Sp. Atk for quarterbacks, Defense and weight for blockers, and Speed for receivers and cornerbacks.

Choose the role before the name

A Pokémon can be excellent at one football job and a weak fit at another. The public scouting chart gives position-specific priorities; ordinary battle strength or a high total of all base stats is not a substitute for matching that role.

The examples below use the base stats and weights in the original game’s public dataset. The role suggestions are our editorial interpretation of the scouting guide. They are candidates to compare when available, rather than a numerical tier list or a guaranteed winning roster.

Recognize a useful tradeoff

TraitWhere it is usefulWhere it is less useful
Sp. AtkThe quarterback’s key trait; helps outside receiversDoes not contribute to defensive-end or outside-linebacker fit
WeightKey on the offensive line, nose tackle, defensive tackle and fullbackNot a cornerback, safety or slot-receiver fit factor
HeightA smaller contribution for WR, TE and CBDoes not contribute at linebacker
SpeedKey at HB, WR, SLOT, DE, OLB, CB and SNot a fit factor for OL, NT or FB

The scouting guide caps height benefits around 7 ft 3 in and uses a sliding weight scale. Doubling an already huge Pokémon’s weight is not the same thing as doubling its football rating.

Build a team instead of collecting favorites

  1. Check all five offensive linemen and both cornerbacks. Leaving one weak fit can undo the benefit of adding another star.
  2. Use type bonuses to break a close stat comparison. A bonus cannot rescue a badly matched role.
  3. Keep the challenge’s pool and formation in mind. A Pokémon that is unavailable in your roll cannot be your draft plan.
  4. For a new run, improve one allocation at a time and compare the result within the same challenge mode.

Quick answers

Is Alakazam a good quarterback?

Alakazam has high Sp. Atk and Psychic typing, both relevant to quarterback scouting. Compare the rest of the lineup too; one quarterback does not guarantee a perfect season.

Is Snorlax automatically the best offensive lineman?

Snorlax has substantial weight and HP, but offensive line also puts major weight on Defense. Compare those traits with your available alternatives.

Is this a tier list of hidden game ratings?

These are stat-based examples and position suggestions. The creator keeps exact fit values and numerical weights private.
